Cam Alignment Device
Description
The precise parallel alignment of the cams, which provide lateral guidance and stop for the workpieces in the cross-cutting machine, is essential for the precision of tongue-and-groove milling on the end faces or short ends of the laminate planks. The cams themselves are mounted on a double-sided rolling block-link chain. The chain runs on extremely long, high-precision guide rails, which must be perfectly parallel and straight along their entire length.
Older machines, and also overhauled crosscut saws, are often not equipped with modern measuring systems, and precisely in these cases, accurate alignment of the stop cams is difficult. Furthermore, some crosscut saws have cams that press against the spring, while others have cams that press against the groove side. Pressing against the often weaker spring can lead to inaccuracies and repetitive errors.
For these machines, WELSCH INDUSTRIAL offers a retrofit solution: a ruler that is permanently installed in the machine and remains there. It is unfolded and used whenever the cams need to be aligned and fixed vertically and horizontally. The device is purely mechanical, but of an extremely high and technologically advanced standard, allowing you to align and fix your cams much more easily, quickly, and with significantly greater precision than before.
