WELSCH INDUSTRIAL

Anvils and Pressure Shoes

Description

In the production of laminate flooring, the tongues and grooves milled at high speeds must fit together perfectly. Only then is a strong, interlocking connection achieved. This connection is crucial for the subsequent stability of the entire floor and for ensuring that the flooring stays firmly in place during installation. However, milling these profiles inevitably generates vibrations that could compromise accuracy. To counteract this, the plank is supported from below by a carbide skid, while another skid presses it downwards from above. This double fixation minimizes vibrations and ensures that the tongue and groove are manufactured with extreme precision, even at high speeds.

Since 2008, WELSCH INDUSTRIAL has been manufacturing support skids (sliding skids, anvils, supports) and pressure skids (pressure shoes) for use in Homag, Torwegge, and Wemhöner double-end tenoners. Our skids consist of a one-piece steel base and a one-piece carbide rod. The carbide is brazed onto the base. Brazing is the most reliable joining process for subsequent applications. However, it is also the most technically demanding joining method. We have mastered brazing at temperatures well above 450 degrees Celsius (850 degrees Fahrenheit), and our skids are of the highest quality.

By using suitable tungsten carbide materials and professional high-temperature brazing, we provide you with highly reliable components. Through close collaboration with all our customers, we develop optimal solutions tailored precisely to your specific requirements.
