Flooring Plank Turner
Description
Laminate flooring planks have a robust, sealed top layer (wear layer) that makes them resistant to abrasion and impacts. Nevertheless, fine or deep scratches can occur during production if the surface comes into contact with hard or rough objects. Turning the planks, a mechanical process, can also cause impacts and friction. The smallest dust particles or unevenness on the conveyor belts or turning mechanisms can act like abrasives under pressure or movement, causing pressure marks and fine scratches.
Whenever planks need to be turned or flipped quickly and gently during production, the plank turner from WELSCH INDUSTRIAL offers a unique function: the planks are clamped between several perfectly synchronized conveyor belts and rotated or flipped by a spiral curve or a special mechanical guide. The belts support the planks along their entire length, and the gap width is freely selectable for each product.
Laminate planks differ fundamentally from solid wood planks: The protective top layer cannot be subsequently refinished or sanded after damage. This is precisely where our plank turner comes in. Our design ensures that the planks are only touched and supported by smooth belts during the turning process. Only non-abrasive contact surfaces are used.
