Description

Once the staging track has accumulated five small packs into a 40-tile row, our heavy-duty linear gantry takes over. This is a high-precision XYZ-axis system designed to build perfectly square, stable pallets that can survive the rigors of global logistics.

The heart of the gantry is the gripper head. Lifting 40 tiles at once, weighing between 160 and 200 kg (350–440 lbs) depending on the format, requires more than just power; it requires our specialized soft-clamping logic. By calculating the exact pressure needed to secure the load without bruising the edges, we ensure that your product remains as flawless on the construction site as it was on the factory floor.

Side-Pressure Compensation:
The gripper uses synchronized pneumatic or servo-driven side plates to hug the 40-tile row. This ensures that the five individual small packs stay perfectly aligned as a single unit during the high-speed transit.
Surface Protection:
The contact points of the gripper are lined with high-density technical rubber to ensure that even with high clamping force, the premium coating of the outer tiles is never marked or scuffed.

To ensure the pallet doesn't lean or collapse during shipping, the gantry must be intelligent: 90° Layer Rotation: The gantry often rotates every second layer by 90 degrees. This interlocking or brick-bond pattern creates a structural column of tiles that is much more stable than simple vertical stacking. Precision Placement: Our engineering team has optimized the servo-drives to allow for millimetric indexing. The bar is placed onto the wooden pallet with zero drop-shock, protecting the bottom edges of the tiles.

Continuous Cycle:
While the gantry is placing a layer on a wooden pallet, the staging track is already building the next 40-tile row.
Dual-Pallet Logic:
Often, our gantry systems are designed to serve two palletizing stations simultaneously. This allows the line to keep running while a full pallet is being wrapped and discharged, and an empty wooden pallet is being fed in.

A pallet is only as stable as the gantry that built it. At WELSCH, we don't just drop tiles; we use servo-driven linear portals to surgically place each 40-tile row into a structurally reinforced interlocking pattern. It is the final signature of quality before your product leaves the tile manufacturing plant.

Our 4-axis portals are equipped with grippers as unique as the products they handle. We design and manufacture every lifting tool on an order-related basis, specifically tailored to your plant's technical requirements. By utilizing our proprietary library of modular components, we combine the reliability of proven engineering with the precision of a bespoke, task-specific design.

In the final stage of the WELSCH packaging loop, a 40-tile row is ready for pickup every 16 seconds. Our linear gantry is engineered to manage this extreme weight and frequency with surgical alignment, ensuring every pallet is a structurally sound unit ready for the rigors of global transport.
