Description

At WELSCH, we don't ignore the physics of buildup. We know that in modern high-velocity lines, especially those utilizing high-gloss acrylics or slurry coatings, the nose of the tile and the front edge of the pallet are subject to constant, aggressive overspray.

Over time, this material effectively lengthens the pallet, leading to catastrophic misalignment in both extrusion and curing. Standard brushes are simply insufficient; they cannot reach the critical buildup point beneath the pallet's front overhang. While many manufacturers have abandoned this technology because it is complex to engineer, we see it differently: we see it as a cornerstone of plant geometry.

The "Standard" Error: Competitors claim end-cleaning is unnecessary to hide their lack of a technical solution. The WELSCH Reality: We know that a 1 mm (0.04 in) buildup across 500 pallets equals half a meter of ghost length in your line. We eliminate that error at the source.

If a vendor tells you that short-end cleaning is unimportant, they are asking you to accept a plant that grows with every shift. At WELSCH, we engineer for the reality of slurry and acrylic. We protect the true dimensions of your pallets, ensuring that the 1,000th pallet of the day fits the extruder as perfectly as the first.

The WELSCH pallet end cleaner was developed in the early 2010s to solve a specific, high-stakes failure point that even the industry giants of the 1990s and 2000s failed to address. We don't just clean; we preserve the mechanical integrity of your entire production loop.

A high-velocity production line is a chaotic environment where pallets are rarely uniform. Our vertical reset elevator handles the extremes of modern tile production: The Pallet Mix, from oil-slicked and water-wet surfaces to heat-expanded or bone-dry molds. The Optical Mix, transitioning seamlessly between light-colored and dark appearances. The Physical Mix, managing a flow of new, old, or even partly deformed pallets without losing the 120 to 150 TPM rhythm.

We take the pallet out of the horizontal plane and into a vertical quality tower, using gravity and advanced sensors to reset the mold's geometry. Dynamic Gap Creation ensures high-speed acceleration belts create a precise separation, regardless of the pallet's friction profile or surface temperature. Captured Vertical Motion utilizes a double-sided paternoster with L-shaped guide rails and rubber-bumper technology to neutralize horizontal inertia, allowing even deformed pallets to settle into a fixed, vertical index for precision cleaning.

The Paternoster System:
This integrated cleaning system utilizes a dual-paternoster architecture to provide continuous, high-speed maintenance of pallet short-ends. Positioned on both the left and right sides of the incoming feed, the system consists of two synchronized double-chain conveyors rotating in a vertical loop.
The Carrier System:
As pallets enter via the flat-belt feeding conveyor, they are engaged by L-shaped guide rails fixed to the heavy-duty industrial chains. These rails capture the pallets from both sides, lifting them vertically through the central cleaning zone. Internal baffles maintain precise linear alignment, ensuring the pallets remain perfectly centered.
The Short Ends Cleaning System:
In the vertical middle section, the system utilizes dual knife trestles engineered for precision debris removal. These knives effectively scratch away concrete impurities from the pallet short ends during active production without compromising the integrity of the aluminum surfaces.
The Discharging System:
Upon reaching the upper section, the cleaned pallets are transitioned to either an acceleration wheel or an exit chain conveyor. These exit systems re-accelerate the units horizontally, seamlessly returning them to the production flow at speeds up to 120 TPM.

Micrometric "Soft-Touch" Cleaning: The adaptive float cleaning trestles allow our application-specific hard-metal scrapers to chisel away cured slurry and acrylic buildup from the short ends with surgical accuracy, protecting your aluminum substrate at all times.

Sensor-Controlled Flight: At the apex of the elevator, the pallet is captured and accelerated horizontally. This is a fully monitored transition where high-speed sensors adjust the catch and land sequence to ensure a smooth, jam-free return to the oiling fortress.

We provide two distinct vertical platforms designed to eliminate ghost length buildup and restore the factory dimensions of your molds: The Main Pallet End Cleaner (Our Specialist): A single-elevator system designed for a rock-solid 120 TPM. The Universal Pallet End Cleaner (Half Tile & Fitting Pallets): Specifically calibrated to handle the unique nose and overhang profiles of fitting pallets that standard cleaners ignore. This machine operates at a maximum of 35 TPM, providing a surgical, sensor-monitored reset for your most complex architectural profiles.

Whether you require the 120 TPM specialist or the 35 TPM universal master, our technology ensures that oil, water, and slurry never compromise your pallet's dimensions. We don't just clean; we restore your plant's precision. While others hide behind the claim that short-end cleaning is unimportant, we recognize it as the secret to long-term OEE.
